Q-Do you do customs/why don’t you?

A- I am currently doing all flash. I used to do customs too and still may go back again but flash has been soo much smoother for me and I know I am super fortunate get to work this way, doing only flash, and am riding the blessed train as long as I can. I have anxiety and tend to overwork customs over and over and it just hasn’t been sustainable for me financially, working constantly unpaid. I do however know its the only way I can grow and push myself so I may open customs appts up again someday!

Q: How do I book with you?

A: I post flash on my Instagram page @marleebantatattoos at random and then put a link in my bio to book where I include times available, sizing, and a set price. With some pieces, they are one-offs so I basically puzzle piece the first people who submit in. Some are repeatable (I will write on the post which they are) so I try to accommodate most everyone who submits for those. After you submit, if I can get you in, I shoot you an email with information on how to send a non-refundable deposit (that goes towards the piece) my way and then once I do receive the deposit, it’s official.

Q: How do you price your work?

A: I have always done set prices for my flash to make it less crazy. I try to be around $130-$150 an hour. Sometimes I go over and sometimes under but I don’t think I ever go around $200 an hour, however with the repeat pieces, I do tend to get a lot speedier by my 3rd + time doing it. I try to write the hours a piece will take in the booking form too. It’s difficult to always gauge how long a piece will take but as a gal with anxiety, I know I appreciate the set prices and try to offer things that way. Someday I may switch this up because its tough to accurately guess with time but this is what’s working for now.

SOME OTHER POLICIES:

  • Flash is first come, first served for the most part. Bare in mind sometimes dates submitted for get claimed or I cannot puzzle your needed dates in around the other pieces that I have that day but mostly first come, first served. I do not hold pieces until the deposit comes in and they are not “claimed” until it is.

  • Deposits are required to book. All deposits are non transferable and non refundable. $100 deposits are required to book but go towards the total and are subtracted at the end/in person.

  • If you must reschedule your appt. for any reason at all, I will asked for an additional $50 deposit. This one is a fee for my time and is not subtracted from the total. Hate to be stern but this job is so unpredictable that I have to make tough boundaries like this in hopes of somewhat protecting my time. TIA for understanding.

  • Folks more than 15 mins late to an appt are considered a no call no show. I may cancel your appt. and keep your deposit in these cases. I normally do two tattoos a day and may not be able to accommodate the time if you arrive too late.

  • All cancellations result in forfeited deposits.

  • No call no shows or reschedules made less than 48 hours to the appt. are considered to have forfeited their deposits in full. I may not offer a reschedule with this short of notice. If I do, I will charge an additional $50 that is separate and a fee for my time lost. However, it is possible I will not even offer this option with such short of notice.

  • I will not offer more than 1 reschedule, even with additional deposits.
